From time to time, I let personal feelings drive a post here. Today is one of those times. After years of being a fan of Delta, if not air travel, I hope that I’ve taken my last trip on the airline. After a snafu during the ticket purchase recently and some additional late charges I didn’t see coming, I received a canned response from Delta (right from some Knowledge Base no doubt). I just hate it when a company forgets about the little guy! Since I choose who I fly with, my choice will be with someone else. Without sharing their entire responce I especially liked the following line.
While we would like to offer special consideration in cases such as yours, we are unable to honor the many similar requests that we receive from others in equally deserving situations. We follow a consistent policy to ensure that we are fair to everyone who travels with us. Accordingly, we must respectfully decline your request. Andrew – On Line Support Desk (Delta)
Maybe the words should be “consistent policy to ensure that we are unfair to everyone who travels”. Sorry Audra, you might have been right about Delta all along.

Delta is the King of can responses. You can ask them a very specific question, noting you already read their FAQ, and get a canned response from their FAQ not even related to the question you ask. It must all be computer generated based on key word matching or something

Seeeeeee, that’s why we fly Continental! Nothing like that EVER happens there!

I hear ya Jerry. I don’t like Delta beacause of too many snafu’s and “canned” excuses. I fly a lot and try to stay away from Delta. They use to be “reliable”. Use to.

I have just about had it with flying altogether. I nearly got arrested in the Houston airport because I followed the sign to the gate for my connecting flight, only to find out it (the sign) was wrong. Then, they wouldn’t let me back through the way I came, even though I never got out of sight of the guard. He finally called his supervisor who got me through to the gate, but it was an unnessary delay for me, and a waste of time for the guard.

I’m glad a fat guy like you won’t be traveling on Delta. I love flying on Delta, but always dread when a fat guy like you boards the plane. Usually, a fat guy like you will sit beside me and take up part of my seat. Thanks, and good luck with Greyhound.
