Act of CongressAct of Congress is the 2008 “Disc Makers Independent Music World Series” Winner. Their debut album titled “DECLARATION” produced by Jason Elgin, (Collective Soul, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Lynam) and mastered by Roger Lian (White Stripes, Deftones, Staind) recently Sold Out it’s release concert at Workplay, “One of PASTE magazine’s 40 best venues in America.” They have upcoming features in Billboard, Portico, and Birmingham magazines. AOC has worked with Live Nation, opening VIP areas for artists such as John Mayer, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, and Brooks and Dunn. AOC has been featured on the 90.3 “Tapestry” program, 102.5 The Bull, AL.com, CBS 42 News, Fox 6 Good Day Alabama,The Birmingham News, The Shelby Reporter, City Scene, and Black and White, They are the 2008 “Birmingham Music Award” winner, and was a finalist in the 2007 Cultural Alliance “Grants for Individual Artists” competition. That’s too bad; I was able to see Act of Congress perform a short set recently, and was really looking forward to seeing a full show.

And I won’t be able to catch the March 27 re-schedule, since there is already a Sundilla concert scheduled for that night. Rats.
