This Jerry Katz reporting from the road. It’s 20 till 5 and there appears to be a gas run in Opelika. The eagle station at 10th street and 2nd avenue is out of regular – Powered by Jott
5PM Update: It’s $4.41 at Hal’s Smith Store and $3.99 at Petro
9PM Update: I stopped into Hal’s and all they have remaining is regular and deisel! Some on order, but it’s a guess if it will come in. I topped off before 5PM and head to Atlanta tomorrow.

Gov. Riley declared a state of emergency Friday night. This means that the price gouging law goes into effect. WSFA News reported the formula that explains what price gouging is. The state Attorney Generals office has been flooded with calls from all over Alabama.
This is nothing but GREED!!!

On Friday afternoon at one station gas went from around $3.70 to nearly $4.50. On Sunday that same station had the price back down to $3.99.
However, it looks to me that most stations around here did not raise prices above $4 over the weekend.

Attorney’s General in Georgia and North Carolina are issuing subponeas today to stations that raised the price to over $4.00. They have to prove why they raised the price.
