I don’t know if you remember Owen being in town in June. Recorded over the last 4 months of 2007, “Shooting The Bull”, Owen Beverly’s first full-length album follows up his 2004 release “The Drunk Lover EP”. This 10 song collection features songs written from 2005 to 2007, a time Beverly spent developing and reshaping his craft as a songwriter. Slightly more intimate, this record shows an Americana/ Folk side of Beverly’s writing. Influenced heavily by old Country Western artists, Soul, Gospel, and Southern Rock, the surprisingly modern sound of “Shooting the Bull” offers an eclectic blend of musical ideas and lyrical depth.
Not sure if he’s going to get some golf in this weekend. You may (or maybe you don’t know) but his Aunt is the golf coach at Auburn University. Welcome back to Opelika Owen!
